Katie Jones (KJ) is a music curator, producer and event promoter residing in Brooklyn, NY. Born in the heart of southern Virginia, KJ’s life has revolved around music from a very young age. Moving to Phoenix at the age of 12, attending a performing arts high school, followed by her acceptance to Berklee College of Music, Katie surrounded herself with talented musicians, supporting their artistry as well as growing an infinite love for the live performance experience. After graduating Berklee in 2011, KJ moved to Los Angeles where she worked at Live Nation, styled celebrities and performed in two bands, The Nicki Bove Band – a soul/R&

B band based out of Venice beach & Revelat0r – a electronic/rock band based out of Long Beach. In the summer of 2015, Katie took a leap of determination for her own sanity and made the move to New York City to reconnect with her passion and totally dedicate herself to the live music scene. Shortly after her move to NYC, KJ began working at National Sawdust and in the early spring of 2016, she founded The Revolution – a performance series highlighting Brooklyn & Harlem based artists + musicians that not only represent the core of independent pop culture but who currently stand in the breeding ground of evolution within their genre. This local musical movement empowers community, change, and activism through performance + unity amongst the local art scene in NYC. Once a month, Katie curates and produces three different artists showcasing three different genres that have a chance to spread love, light, and awareness through their music and their stories. This series supports revolutionary artistry and how important music is to healing, in all aspects of life. Outside of her work with National Sawdust, KJ is a freelance production coordinator assisting on numerous music festivals around the US. She is also the co-founder of Koozie Productions, a production, promotion company based out of Brooklyn, NY whose sole purpose is to support artists in collectively booking mini-festivals and one-off shows at various venues. In the Fall of 2017, Koozie Productions will expand to Durham, NC alongside co-founder James Petrine of MOOG Fest, as KJ maintains their NYC presence.
